Fuel stand alone 2 (Boost)

Things change very quickly now.
Yesterday solved noisy CPS signal problem.
Set rough fuel map to be at stoichiometric ratio on E85 on idle and safely rich everywhere else.
Started boost raising through MAP to MAP conversion and felt first results, pulls better from third and upper :)
Not much, as all hardware stays stock, but quite stable. All bottom and boost curve stays the same just top end changes. Think to raise boost to 1-1.1bar, depends on IAT temps and intercooler effectiveness. Picture of first MAP to Map changes.
Todo list:
-Finnish with boost curve
-Get a EGT sensor, before major changes on ignition and fuel seeking for power
-Start working on VE-Fuel table and ignition

Fuel stand alone 1 (Why piggy back!?)

Why I finished buying ECUMASTER DET3? My project essence is to acquire ability to control injection time and fuel dose. To accomplish this it was required to to do one of following:
  • To do stand alone system
  • To CHIP manufacturer ECU TRIONIC 5.5
  • Use piggy back
First is too complicated in relation with money and time. Second is a lot cheaper, but not made by myself completely. Actually there is way to do it by myself (http://trionic.mobixs.eu/), but still more time consuming, maybe in future I will try this, as there is some drawbacks of piggy back.
So I choosed third, because of price and time for installation, as it is already installed I can say it took 3-4 evening after work to accomplish.
Now I can modify:
  • ignition angle
  • fuel dose as DET3 controls injectors directly
  • turbine charging pressure through map to map conversion, manufacturer ECU thinks it is in normal range and does waste gate work

As TRIONIC 5.5 ECU check its devices after ignition switched off, and I am doing map to map conversion, I had to make DET3 work as long as checks are on making signal from manufacturer MAP sensor alive as long as checks are on, otherwise ECU raises MAP sensor fault and works in LIMP mode. As solution I used relay witch turns DET3 power supply on then MAP sensor gets its power supply 5V.

Todo list:
-solve the problem with noisy CPS signal and DET3 going in cranking mode just after ignitions turns on
-map fuel map and corrections to make engine run smoothly on 100% E85
-modify MAP sensor signal output to make more boost, standard 0.73 with third and upper gears

    Is it dead?

Really no posts for long time, but project is not dead at all. Small things were done time by time, chassis were rebuilt to become healthy standard. Front brake disks and callipers were changed, put three milimeters bigger in outside and inside diameter, so area of breaking imcreased quite noticeably, but main thing about it these have better cooling as they are wider. Front disks and callipers are from Opel Vectra 2.5l. Also acquired semislick type tires Toyo Proxes R888 R16, 205x50 witch put on standard saab super aero style rims.

With this point I did few trackdays in Kaunas Kacergine race circuit in FastLap and Vipsauga trackdays to see is my, not sporty as first impresion, saab worth something on track.
And this is from inside, my best lap time:

Also fitted new daily wheels, quite nice:
     Todo list:
-Connect Ecumaster Digital Ecu Tunner version 3 device in fuel stand alone mode
-Map it to work on 100% E85 fuel
-Make some more boost doing MAP to MAP conversion, more info on www.ecumaster.com ;)
